- Transport arrangements need to be made for learners to attend chess.
- If a learner wants to participate in other activities such as soccer (if it is on the same day as chess) he/she will not be able to participate.
- Please be aware that academics come first, thus if a learner needs to attend intervention classes on the same day, they will not be able to participate in chess.
- If a learner misses two practices without a written excuse, they will no longer be able to participate.
- Chess is a quiet sport which needs concentration. If a learner disrupts a practice, they will be asked to leave.
- Learners who have played chess in Term 1 will be given preference to attend lessons, should there be too many learners interested in playing chess. However, learners who are beginners are welcome to join chess.
- Always bring a pen with, to make notations
- Dress neatly in school uniform.
We have a Class Dojo group for chess parents. This will make it easier to share information regarding tournaments and some helpful tips on chess to practice at home. You will receive a SMS as an invitation for the group. Kindly do weekly checks on the group to ensure that you do not miss important information.
